“My task, which I am trying to achieve is, by the power of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel - it is, above all, to make you see.” ― Joseph Conrad
Kia Ora! I'm Saskia Whitelock from that wee country next to Australia, New Zealand! I'm a 21 year old student studying Physical Education at University of Otago with a passion for event planning (weird combo, I know). I love to travel, capture kodak moments, write lists, complete all the items on my lists and I LOVE to laugh and smile with all the ones close to me. I love to organise, hence the passion for event management, and my heart always does a little flutter when I hear the word event. I am an extreme lover of vintage tea cups, doilies, glass jars with candles, and shabby chic, my Pinterest boards will agree with me there.
I have always thoroughly enjoyed writing, and have kept journals off and on since a wee 7 year old. However, recently I've decided to pursue my writing passion with more creative intensity and focus. I hope that through my various pieces of writing I'm able to convey my thoughts, ideas and feelings with elegance, sophistication, humour and all with a 'Saskia expression'.
My ultimate passion is to live a life that glorifies Him, to be an expresser and vessel of love and to be continually in pursuit of His direction through complete obedience. I am a passionate encourager and love to support my friends and family. I take great enjoyment from expressing selfless love and God's heart to the people who have been placed in my sphere of influence. I believe God has placed in me a spirit of positivity which I daily choose to feed and spread wherever I go. I see my positivity as one of my strengths and I believe I can utilise this as a way of reaching the lost and shining God's light.
I never thought that I was a creative person, I always believed other members of my family received the 'creative gene' and I was the 'sporty one'. But I've now come to the realisation that my 'lack of creativity' had stemmed from a lack of trying. Since pursuing a life of passionate creativity I have discovered things about myself I didn't even know existed. I have dabbled in videography, photography, Pinterest DIY projects and lyric and poem writing, not to mention this blog in itself. Who would've thought that I'd even enjoy any of those things, let alone be semi-good at them! Not me that's for sure! I'm completely enjoying this new journey of creativity I have begun, and can't wait to see where God leads me in the future!
