Well I recently found out some interesting facts on calorie burning and consumption…so I thought I would enlighten you and help you out in the big wide world of calories.
Calorie Consumption:
1 Christmas Mince Pie = 180 calories
1 Glass of White Wine = 121 calories
1 Serving of Pavlova = 200 calories
3 Chocolate Santas = 190 calories
1 Candy Cane = 50 calories
1 Serving of Glazed Ham = 195 calories
Bacon and Banana on Pancakes = 850 calories
1 Serving of Roast Lamb = 205 calories
1 Serving Ambrosia = 160 calories
Calorie Burning:
30 min run = 272 calories
30 min bike = 136 calories
30 min aerobics = 170 calories
30 min kissing = 192 calories
1 min kissing = 6.4 calories
With New Years and Christmas very (VERY) fast approaching, it’s time to either embrace the mistletoe and 6.4 calories or stick to your classic run. I mean realistically, it would make sense to go for a run, because that’s like 9.1 calories a minute, and then kissing…. that’s only 6.4 calories a minute… but sometimes you have to be a bit yolo in life. Okay, you're not exactly going to drop kilograms by kissing, but if it burns calories it must be good for something right? Haha
I feel like since we get great weather (depending on where you are in the country) during summer, it’s definitely worth doing exercise and fun activities outdoors in the sunshine while we have it. Go for a tramp, go for a long walk along the beach, go swimming in the sea, go for an evening bike ride with some friends. There are so many different things we can do to get some exercise, and have fun with friends while doing it! Go down to the beach and have an early morning workout session with your mates, soft sand is a great from of resistance for sprints and running!
So let’s have a healthy balance this Christmas and New Years season, remember everything in moderation (food, exercise…kissing…), and don't be afraid to burn some calories!
